Heyyy and happy Friday! I know I have been slacking on my pattern review Fridays but that happens sometimes when you trying to crochet all the dolls lol. I probably should do a review of the doll pattern but since it’s my pattern I already know the review would be completely biased.
So today’s review is a pattern that I have made a lot of times like over 200 times! It is for the oh so popular slouchy beanie! I know there are tons of crochet slouchy beanie patterns out there but this one is my absolute favorite and my go to pattern.
The pattern is called “Really Easy Slouchy Beanie” and can be found on Craftsy.
A little sidebar about Craftsy. So it seems that a lot of people are not familiar with the site but not only is it an awesome place to find patterns (if you design patterns also a great place to sell see my post here) Craftsy is also a great place to learn as they offer online courses from crochet to knitting even cooking and jewelry design. If you have a crafty bone in your body then you definitely want to check out Craftsy. Oh did I mention they also sell yarn! Yes, yarn and the prices are awesome so seriously finish reading my post and then go check out Craftsy.
Ok back to this pattern review…
Cost: Free (Yes it’s a free pattern)
Difficulty: Beginner-Advanced Beginner, this pattern is a great introduction to making hats and crocheting in the round.
Why You Will Hook It: Because the end results are awesome. The pattern can easily be modified so you can add stripes, you can make it as big or as small as you would like and it is the perfect unisex hat just change up the colors and it works for boys and or girls.
Why You Will Frog It: Seriously you won’t unless you just want to use the yarn for something else. By the time you are ready to frog it you will be done and ready to make the next one.
How Many Hooks: 5 out of 5 it’s a free pattern easy to read easy to modify and actually well written.
For my version, I used Caron Simply Soft yarn and a 5.00mm hook
